FAQ

Here are the questions we get the most about fishing packages, wildlife floats, lodge stays, and travel. If you’re still unsure after reading, use the contact page and tell us your dates and group size.

Booking

How to book, what to plan for, and what to do if something doesn’t load.

QHow do I book?

Use the Book Now button on this page (or the booking buttons on each package page). If you want help choosing, use the contact page with your dates and group size.

QHow much notice do you need?

Plan for at least 72 hours when possible so we can coordinate guiding, river conditions, and rooms smoothly. If you’re closer than that, message us anyway — we’ll tell you what’s realistic.

QThe booking window didn’t load. What should I do?

Use the contact page and tell us what you clicked, your device (iPhone/Android/Desktop), and your dates. We’ll help you through it.

Quick fixes that often work: refresh, try a different browser, and on mobile turn off any “data saver” mode.

QDo you require a minimum group size?

For most guided experiences we typically run with two guests. If you’re solo, reach out and we’ll tell you what options are available for your dates.

Packages

Choosing Classic, Premium, or Ultimate and what’s included.

QWhich fishing package should I choose?

Classic is a clean intro. Premium is the sweet spot for most guests (more guided river time). Ultimate is for anglers who want maximum time on the water.

QCan mixed groups do this (some fish, some don’t)?

Yes. That’s common. Wildlife floats and lodge stays work well for couples and families where not everyone wants full fishing days.

QWhat’s included vs optional add-ons?

Each page lists what’s included. Add-ons (like upgrades or extra experiences) depend on timing and conditions — easiest way is to message us with your dates and what you want the trip to feel like.

Lodge

Rooms, A/C, bathrooms, meals, and what the lodge is actually like.

QDo the rooms have A/C and private bathrooms?

Yes. Private rooms with A/C and en-suite bathrooms.

QAre meals included?

Some stays include meals, and flexible stays let you add what you want. If you have dietary needs, mention it in your message when you book or when you contact us.

QIs the lodge close to the river?

Yes — river access is directly across the road.

River & Fishing

Seasons, conditions, and the kind of fishing this water rewards.

QWhat’s the best time of year to visit?

December–April is typically drier. May–November is wetter. Both can be great — conditions simply change the plan and the water you fish.

QWhat species can we target on the Río Niño?
  • Guapote (Jaguar Cichlid)
  • Machaca
  • Seasonal snook (conditions dependent)

If you’re chasing something specific, send us your dates — the river and season will decide what’s realistic.

QIs this an easy river for beginners?

It can be beginner-friendly, but it’s also a technical river in spots. If you’re new, we’ll help you choose the best style for the day (drift, wade, or scenic float).

Travel

Airports, getting here, and what to pack.

QWhich airport do most guests use?

Most guests fly into Liberia (LIR) and travel to the Upala area from there.

QDo you help with transportation?

Yes — reach out on the contact page with your arrival time and group size and we’ll point you to the best option.

QWhat should I pack?
  • Light rain jacket
  • Sun protection
  • Quick-dry clothes + one change of clothes
  • Boat-friendly footwear
  • Any daily meds you need

Still not sure?

Send your dates, group size, and what you want the trip to feel like. We’ll point you to the right option.
